Life Is A Reflection

My Story

For decades, I was no stranger to work hard, long hours and no time! My life was no longer fulfill and out of balance. I want more time, more freedom and the ability to generate income no matter where I go. I started dreaming about the opportunity of digital income streams for a while and finally, my dream come true.

Ever since I was a very young kid, I saw my dad working very hard, labour intensive and long hours, sometimes he would work until 12.00pm so all the final production and product packing were completed in order to meet the shipment timeline. Dad owned a lolly factory and mum worked in the factory too. Dad provides for our family and his parents. My parents raised five children, my two younger sisters, my two younger brothers and I, and three of my cousins after my uncle and aunt (my mum’s sister) died of nose cancer and car accident respectively. My parents also generously help many college students in the neighbourhood when they were unwell, most of these students came from other states of Malaysia and studying in Kuala Lumpur. Mum and dad would cook food for them every day until they were fully recovered. I remembered vividly one student from Johor, had been diagnosed with acute brain tumour, dad and mum offer support for the student and his mother until the student passed away.

Why do I want to tell you this? Because this is part of what I have learned from my parents, work hard and long hours, providing for the family and looking after the family. Always have compassion, empathy and giving without expectation.

Now, back to the always “work hard” story! Does it sound familiar to you? Did your parents or relations told you to work hard and find a good job and you too, ended up working for long hours and no time for yourself and love one?

As a teenager, although I wasn’t the top student, but I was just lucky enough to make it to Science Class One, which open doors for me into the pharmaceutical industry in my early 20’s and I was really grateful. However, I wasn’t really interested in school at that time, all my high school classmates would study hard and go to additional tuition after school. I was the one that falls asleep in the biology class many times and doesn’t really like the physic teacher who repeatedly showing the same demonstration about force, velocity, physic equations, and formula. All I want was find myself a good job and get ahead, achieve financial independence, buy my own property and my own car.

Mum asked me what would I like to do in my future, I have no idea. Do you know what you want to do when you were young? If you do, good on you! Do you end up doing what you really want to do?

I remembered my kindergarten teacher suggested to me to become a nurse when I was six years old. I replied NO thank you. Mum suggested to me to be a piano teacher as I was learning piano, I replied to my mum, NO thanks. I don’t really know what I want to do, but I clearly know what I don‘t want to do. I carried on studying A-level, went to college by riding on my motorbike, a Dark Purple Kawasaki Ninja!  Which I paid cash for it from my saving and years of hard earn money working at dad’s factory doing packaging after school. But, I just cannot wait to the finishing line at the college.

I spent a couple of months wondering what do I really want to do after that, with little guidance and direction. I did some part-time job as Karaoke DJ, part-time waitressing at the pub, selling handphone which was as big as a brick. I decided to get into a sales position and I was selling professional haircare product for a while, but very quickly I realized it wasn’t me. I kept looking for a new job opportunity by checking out English newspaper almost every day.

Finally, I found my passion in helping the patient who needed medical treatment and prescription. I was passionately calling on all the different healthcare professionals, detailing product efficacy, side effects and sharing clinical papers. I sold anti-depressant, Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), antihypertensive agent, deworming agent, cholesterol-lowering agent, medication to control chronic asthma, treatment to prevent postmenopausal osteoporosis, many children vaccines and last but not least, the first vaccine in the world to prevent women’s cervical cancer and genital warts, it was my baby. I was involved in product launching to gaining new market share, open new accounts and involved in many vaccination campaigns. My passion to help the individual in achieving wellbeing is in my blood.

I had many successful track records throughout my entire fourteen years of working for two of the largest pharmaceutical company in the world at that time. I cannot remember how many meetings, conferences, symposiums and medical congresses I have attended. However, one thing for sure, I work long hours and many weekends. I repeat, I work long hours and many weekends. Are you still with me? Is that you? Always working for very long hours and not enough time for you and family?

I always quote, Life Is About Decision Making and Taking Action. The truth is Change Is Certain, Unchanged Is Uncertain. Just like Mother Nature, if you pay attention, she is always changing!

My decision was relocated to New Zealand to be with my partner. A massive change of my life, leaving all my family members, my friends, my career and my properties behind and start brand new again, with my mix feeling of excitement and sadness. My life in New Zealand was full on, learn more about my partner then became husband and his family. I was adapting to the new environment, new job and learn how to run a business, and later qualified my study became a licensed real estate salesperson. In 2016, I bought a retail business and implemented stock inventory and point of sale system from scratch. In the past many years, I have trained many staff members, done most of the purchasing, handling suppliers and run the daily business operation.

One thing for sure, I am always trading my time for income. Work hard, long hours and weekends!

My life experiences have led me to a total transformation and awakening. I had been through soul death and rebirth. I started writing and secured a contract for my manuscript in 2018, which I wish the process timeline is as per contract and launch in 2019. I felt that I have a second chance in life, and I want to live a REAL LIFE!

In reality, Life Is About Decision Making and Taking Action. I have decided to live a real life with a higher level of freedom, body-mind, and soul. A higher level of fulfillment for self, health, wealth, financially, emotionally and TIME. You cannot buy time with money. All these years, I missed my family in Kuala Lumpur so much and they miss me too! I love them and I want to see them more than just once or twice a year. I want to do more traveling, check off my bucket list and do what I want, when I want.
